Finally, another report from our construktion site

Dear friends of meditation,

A lot has happened on our construction site since the last report.

Once the scaffolding for the floor construction was in place, the impact sound insulation was blown in. This was a task that required a lot of preparation, as a decision had to be made between “2,800 bags weighing 25 kg each” and the blow-in option, which generates a lot of dust. Ronald, Daniel, and Thomas opted for the blow-in option, and everyone was happy when it was done.

Work has now begun on the next layers of the floor structure:

…and the screed in the bathrooms and on the garden level has also been completed in the meantime.

Another special feature is the rammed earth wall that frames the entrance area. This also required some preparation in advance: some of the clay was taken from our property. It had to dry over the summer, then the remaining chunks had to be crushed and filled into large sacks. Alois, who had taken on this task, was able to complete all the preparatory work with the help of Robert and, at times, meditators.

Then the first parts of the formwork were erected… the final patterns were made again… Christine and Lewe were there for a whole week to support Alois…

…and everyone stamped their feet for the photo:

…Karl-Heinz, our architect, also came specially for a day to help… here together with Robert,

The Unveiling

What happens next?

While we are now waiting for the subsidy for “energy-efficient construction,” the work continues. At the moment, the clay plasterers are applying the fine plaster.

…of course, it will be made even more beautiful….

The tilers are scheduled to come next week, and the wooden floor is to be laid in January.

Dana for the wooden floor in the meditation room

We discussed again and again what kind of flooring to choose. The result is oak floorboards, which fit well with the whole extension thanks to their down-to-earth appearance.

The next step was to find the best offer among the wide range of qualities available.

So now there is another opportunity to give Dana.

One square meter costs €120, including installation.

The new meditation room measures 141 square meters.

Who would like to donate one or more square meters of oak flooring for the meditation room?

When transferring money to the association’s account, please state the purpose as

Many thanks to all who support this work with their actions, monetary donations, and regular contributions.

May the merits of your giving return to you in many ways.

It will take a little more effort before we can start using the extension next year. But most of the work has already been done.

We are constantly amazed at how much support this project has received and how, step by step, everything is falling into place so that it can be completed.

We are already using the large meditation room for evening chanting and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere that already prevails there.
